​therapist, I have become aware that ​much of the time, mental health symptoms are not necessarily  problems, but more like emissaries. They can be seen as messengers from the body to the mind, attempting to convey, sometimes in their own troubling yet meaningful language, that something needs deeper attention and care: anxiety that is pointing to a set of old childhood experiences that weren't met with the love, sensitivity, and attunement needed at the time. My psychotherapy practice is grounded in the belief that all of us are born with an innate wisdom and inner sense of direction that can guide us towards balance and fulfillment. Alongside this inner direction though, can come difficult, confusing and emotionally overwhelming early life experiences that can be hard to navigate at the time. Our minds learn to move on, but our bodies remember. Then, adding to the challenge of navigating direction, many experiences in daily life can be

Relationships with partners, friends and family, troubling work environments, parenting complexities, and many other demanding circumstances can create an overload on our innate capacity for health and balance. Persistent mental health struggles can begin to arise out of the accumulation and combination of ongoing life injuries and relentless modern day stressors. Oftentimes these emotional and behavioral struggles are the soul's way of calling attention to things that need care and change.
